3w4

Madds D.

  • 3w4 was inspired by my own personal experience with internalized misogyny, transphobia, and dissociation. It represents how it feels to be both detached and incredibly aware of your thoughts and body. At the time I was unmedicated and not doing weekly therapy so I didn't have a place to share my thoughts. Writing provided me with a place to share my inner dialogue. I wrote down a few plot ideas and beat sheets with slight plot variations, then combined them and put it on youmescript. I edited my script a few times, then started planning production schedules and costume/set design. I went into production shortly after and finished shooting in a day. After, I started editing and sound mixing and committed all my after school hours to finishing the project.

  • Expressing my creativity through film gave an outlet when I didn't feel comfortable talking to people about what I was going through at home and in my head. I also had the opportunity to create the queer, trans, and Jewish represantation that I always wish I had.
