The poem I wrote called ‘reset’ reflects on the pain and addiction that follows self-harm, and how difficult it can be to get through. It’s one of the most vulnerable pieces I’ve written. After writing ‘reset’, I felt like I was able to lift a weight off of my shoulders because I put so much pressure on myself to get the final product right. Writing about my personal experience, I put so much emotion and effort into this poem. In my opinion, it's important to enjoy the writing process as much as the final product. This poem truly allowed me to explore a part of myself that I didn't know I had the courage to write about, and I think that that's beautiful in itself.

Creativity means that I have an outlet to express how I'm feeling through something that I enjoy doing, whether that's writing stories, poetry, or songs. I think it's important that everyone has some kind of creative outlet, where they are free of judgment, and can be who they are.
