• Artist Statement

  My image is a self-portrait. It is meant to show myself in a way that looks alien while the image's literal subject matter is very mundane. It shows that if you look at yourself through a slightly unconventional lens you can see something completely different. My artistic process is to seek out potentially interesting areas and then walk around the area looking for things to photograph. For self portrait photos I look out for reflective surfaces that will create a good image. Once I have a good image I will edit it to fix any potential errors such as the picture needing to be straightened. These steps let me make images that I like while also being an enjoyable process.

• Creative Statement

  To me creativity means the ability to innovate or come up with unique ideas that most people wouldn’t. Creativity can be making a painting using some new technique or coming up with a new way to do something. A creative person would be someone who can consistently be creative.
