Pomegranates

Amara C.

  • This piece was inspired by pomegranate seeds I found on the ground. They symbolize life and fertility, but as darkness and blood. This is also based loosely around the myth of Hades and Persephone, taking a darker interpretation of their love story. It starts out recalling the light and slowly fades into darkness, the female trying to rid herself of the darkness shes trapped in but ultimately she's unsuccessful, bound by her captors love for her.

  • Creativity to me is the ability to make something more then yourself, something meaningful out of your feelings or what you have and being innovative in the process. Expression allows for the exploration of different perspectives and the ability to be creative isn't limited to one form.
