• Artist Statement

  I loved the contrast between life and death across the axis of the photo. It shows a beautiful comparison between this bright, happy, vibrant, flower in peak condition and then transitions to this dull, weak, dying flower on its last legs of life. It is a very moody photo that I took during a rainstorm so it has a darker, clouded, natural light illuminating the flowers. The moodiness and how the light fades into black at the bottom adds an eerie tone to the image adding further to its story.

  To me creativity is expressing my feelings, my mood, and my emotions through my art. It is a way to reflect who I am and what I love though a lens and share that experience with the people and community around me.
