• Artist Statement

  I was trying to experiment with street photography in San Francisco, especially in a low light setting. As I was walking down Market Street hoping to find street performers, I turned a corner into a man drumming on pots and pans. When I tipped him and began to take photos, he stopped for a second and began to light his drumsticks on fire. Shooting low light in manual mode was something I was trying to get used to, and I was able to capture this fleeting moment successfully in a very distracting environment.

• Creative Statement

  Creativity is a way for me to express myself in an authentic way that doesn't need to conform to the norms of society. For me, photography allows me to show others how I view life through my own lens.
