• Artist Statement

  When I write I like to take real-life conflicts or intense emotions that I’m experiencing and extrapolate them to this wild fantasy situation that explains how I feel inside. When I wrote this piece, I felt like my control over my body and my actions was being surrendered to a force through no choice of my own, and I wanted to describe that emotion in a fantastical way to help me work through my feelings.

• Creative Statement

  To me, creativity is finding unique ways to convey a message. All art is conveying some sort of message, so to be creative you don't necessarily need to do something that's never been done before. You just have to do something that pushes convention or finds an unusual way to achieve its goal.
