I first starting drawing because I was inspired by the beauty of wildlife and all the stories that animals can tell with their expressions. One of my favorite expressions to capture in a painting is love, which is what I did in my newest piece, "Bonded," featuring a brother and sister tiger in a very special moment. These two big cats clearly trust and love each other, so I painted them with that in mind, keeping the fur texture as soft as possible. I learned a lot during this piece about how to create deep, orange values using dark reds, purples, and greens. It's 14 by 22 inches, and my favorite piece to date.
