Window Sill

This is from a series of work I did for my photography class about themes of hope and despair and my belief that hope is the more powerful emotion. I decided to use black and white to highlight the juxtaposition between these two contrasting feelings. In the image you see four quadrants, you see a solitary figure gazing out on a beautiful landscape with most of their head out of view because of the wooden beam in the window. The smallest quadrant shows condensation, this is to symbolize the murky side of the human spirit that is not seeing positively or clearly. The other three quadrants are clear and symbolize hope.

To me, creativity means full presence. When I am in flow making art I am never worried about the past or future; it is a release and a relief! Creativity is also a way for me to express myself and my feelings in a way that words can not describe.
