What Does It Mean to Be Human

  • I started by going through 2 magazines that we got in the mail and just cutting out everything that I liked or that inspired me. After I had a big pile of images, words and phrases, and illustrations from the magazines, I went through them again to pick out the ones that seemed to fit together really well, either by color, style, or theme. I laid them out on a large poster board sized piece of paper, first the larger illustrations and then filling in the empty spaces on the paper and pictures with text. After gluing them all down, I took a white paint pen and wrote down words or phrases in the remaining blank spaces, to emphasize the message and fill the page. My goal was to have a big, impactful, busy page that would intrigue people and make them think, about the art itself or the message.

  • To me, creativity is more than just a skill; it’s something you have to practice to improve at and something that requires time and inspiration. I find myself unable to create art I’m satisfied with when I lack motivation and inspiration. Love, emotions, and human relationships inspire me the most.
