The SPSV school prayer inspired me to do this piece. The prayer goes, “Lord give us this day, the desire to learn, the courage to act, the determination to lead, the voice to speak, and the heart to serve. Saint Patrick, Saint Vincent, pray for us.” The line that most spoke to me was “the voice to speak”, which is the title of my piece. I depicted an arm reaching out to a megaphone to represent this line. The arm was depicted with a view of its muscles and bones yet without a skin color to represent that the inside and character of a person matters most. I then painted white around the arm and megaphone to bring this out against the black background. Lastly, I painted messages and Bible verses in contrasting colors that I think the world truly needs to hear and live by.

Creativity is the unique way that one is able to express their thoughts, opinions, perspectives, experiences, interests, and personality. No creativity is the same, making each individual’s creativity one-of-one. This means that every single person’s creativity is invaluable, so it needs to be expressed and utilized.
