Vertical Symphony

Vertical Symphony is a deeply personal exploration of grief, memory, and the journey toward healing. The building in this image holds immense emotional weight for me, it’s the place where my friend chose to end his life. For years, I couldn’t look at it without being overwhelmed by sorrow and guilt. This photograph was taken the first moment I could confront it with a sense of clarity and reflection, rather than being consumed by pain. I found a way to reframe the structure—not as a monument to loss but as a symbol of resilience. The towering lines and endless repetition become a metaphor for the rhythms of grief: heavy, consuming, yet somehow grounding. In this moment, I was able to find beauty in what once felt unbearable, a space that once broke me. Vertical Symphony is both a tribute to my friend and a step toward my own healing.

It’s the ability to take ownership of your ideas and actions and to try new things without feeling confined by expectations or the need to follow the crowd. Creativity is deeply personal, it’s about allowing yourself to experiment, build, and create something unique, even if it goes against the grain.
