Unnamed Girl

Tamar L.

Acrylic paint and acrylic markers

  • This is a portrait of a Palestinian girl who’s life was taken unjustly and who’s story we will never know. She represents all of those who have passed in the Israel-Palestine conflict. The words in Hebrew on the bottom left say ”Shalom” which means peace in English. I wrote Shalom because that is what all these people deserve but never got - a peaceful life. The dove also represents Shalom, as well as a symbol of honor for those passed.

  • Creativity is a form of self-expression. I show my creativity through painting and drawing; I draw my feelings and the things I’m going through, which helps me understand my emotions better.
