  • This art project reimagines Ugandan currency as a vibrant celebration of the nation’s rich cultural heritage. By re-designing the banknotes with imagery that highlights Uganda’s history, traditions, wildlife, and indigenous people, the project challenges the conventional use of money as a mere transactional tool. It aims to elevate the visual representation of Uganda’s identity, transforming currency into a canvas for storytelling, cultural pride, and national unity. Through this artistic reinterpretation, the project invites viewers to reflect on the deep connection between economics, art, and culture.

  • Creativity, to me, is expressing who I am as a Black girl. It’s using art, writing, or dance to share my culture, thoughts, and experiences. It gives me the freedom to be myself, challenge stereotypes, and make my voice heard, all while celebrating my roots and identity.
