Two Dimensions of Existence

Graphite Pencil / Color Pencil

  • My artwork, “Two Dimensions of Existence,” is a split image of a mime and a creature, created using graphite and colored pencils. The mime side, done black and white depicts how society perceives introverted individuals. Dressed in a black and white striped shirt, the mime stands against the background of the Eiffel Tower, a nod to the origins of mimes in France. In contrast, the other side done in colored pencil is in a much more vibrant light, revealing a powerful creature from a fantasy land. This creature embodies confidence, loudness, and danger. It represents how incredible people truly are beneath the surface. Together, these two halves symbolize the duality between outward appearances and inner realities.

  • I believe art should transcend mere representation of reality. The true value of art lies in the layers of meaning and the stories behind each piece. Art should provoke thought and evoke emotions. Many of my projects dive into internal human struggles—themes like self-pity, loneliness, and isolation.
