The class assignment was to create a self portrait, and I had this splash of inspiration in my head of turning my self portrait into a pirate. Pirates inspire me artistically because of the clothing apparel that they wear. It inspired me to have a pirate outfit on in the portrait, along with other features.

Being creative is a chance to unwind and focus on something that brings me joy. When I make something and am proud of it, it brings other people joy.
