THE FLOW EXHIBIT Mobile UI Design

  • THE FLOW EXHIBIT is a statement about the representation gap between lower and higher-income cities in my area. At my school district, the lowest-funded in the county, students hardly get a chance to showcase their art or connect with other creatives. With this in mind, I designed the visual identity and mobile application for an art exhibit, which amplifies the voices of underrepresented artists and builds communities through artwork. I brainstormed layouts and typography for this project on paper, using Illustrator/Photoshop afterward to create the visual identity. The UI/UX was prototyped in Figma and underwent several rounds of A/B testing with users throughout my county. As a designer, I speak with my community every day - and it’s through design that I use my voice to address the problems we face. Through projects like this, I identify overlooked issues in my community and play my part in responding with impactful solutions.

  • For me, creativity is a conversation with my community. Through listening, I learn more about my identity and how I can meaningfully respond. My responses take form visually, whether that be through expressive artwork or solutions. With design, I hope I can continue to spark change, wherever I go.
