The Final Battle

Jandro C.

  • When I composed this piece, I wanted to tell a story and convey emotions, so I made it in a ”movie score”-like style, where the piece actively changes to match the current mood. This piece can be divided into 3 parts, with each part evoking different emotions. The first part is intense, intended to sound like a battle, and then it becomes heroic, which implies something good happening. Suddenly, however, the music becomes more dissonant, meaning something bad happened. The second part starts out emotional, depicting a character’s death, and then the music crescendos, which is intended to show a deceased character ascending to heaven. The third part starts with the music picking up again, which is supposed to depict the protagonist running from a threat, and then the music suddenly becomes quiet again as they escape. After that, the music becomes emotional and happy, giving a feeling of resolve.

  • To me, composing, and creativity as a whole, is an art form and a way to express feelings.
