This piece explores the transition from childhood to adulthood through a layered combination of watercolor and acrylic techniques. The piece begins with a light wash of yellow, creating a subtle, glowing background that symbolizes optimism and the brightness of youth. This initial wash is allowed to peek through the final painting, symbolizing the persistence of memory. To add depth, light washes of color are used and the process of ripping and taping paper onto the canvas creates texture that evokes a dreamlike quality.
