The Bridge

Alexa C.

  • This story was born from a desire to capture the beauty of life at its simplest, emerging from the things we all take for granted, and ending with the gentle caress for death. Life is only beautiful so long as death gives it significance, which in turn, also gives death a kind of special beauty. But I also wanted to explore the emotions that death stirs within us, which are so profound that often words cannot hope to do them justice. Instead, I wove their significance into the spaces between words, leaving the space to feel love which is uniquely human within the soul of the story.

  • Creativity to mean simply means making something you love. It could be art. Or it could be an argumentative essay. Or a program. It’s just pouring your heart, your soul, into something that is distinctively YOU. Something that will transcend you, if you will. Leaving a mark on the world.
