• Artist Statement

  This was an ekphrastic piece originally written for a photograph of a large oak tree ripped up then put back together somehow. I decided to write about how trees are made up of stories it pulls from the things all around them. Throughout the piece, the reader can see this manifest itself in different ways. I wrote this piece the same way I write poetry, but in prose.

• Creative Statement

  Creativity is the action of making a reflection of one’s own sense of self outside of one’s mind and body. It is an action of holiness as well as discovery.
