• Artist Statement

  I took ceramics my sophomore year, dropped it to double in science my junior year, then picked it back up for my senior year. I missed the creative freedom that I got from ceramics, and how I could just get lost in the creating process. My teapot is inspired by Sunrise Shells which are almost exclusively found on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. These shells are very rare. They occasionally wash up on beaches, however most are found diving off-shore. My cups are inspired by pearls.
