Stairs Up Memory Lane

Ciara A.

  • I was on a field trip to the Getty Museum and I decided to bring my camera with me. I’ve never been to the Getty before, and had never heard of it prior so it was a complete surprise going inside the building with my group. Upon first impressions the Getty’s architecture was very minimalist and large. I took a picture of the main stairway, trying to capture a bit of that sunlight that bounced off the white walls while my classmates explored. I edited it a little on photoshop to make the light pop and give the picture a dream like- almost memory like quality. It’s one of my favourite pictures, and it was an amazing summer memory, thus its entry name: Stairs Up Memory Lane.

  • I have said this before, and will continue to say it; Art is a Sacred Language. Creativity is humanity’s holy dialect, to me it means that if Art is a language, it can be taught, the word can spread. Creativity keeps art alive, without it we’re detached from ourselves.
