In a portraiture project, I captured numerous photos of my friend. I went to her house to fully capture her aesthetic and set up soft front lighting to see her whole face and to create a comfortable mood. We were playing around with different materials when we found a tech deck in her bag. She plays with it all the time, when I put it on her face she was caught off guard and started laughing. The shadow of my hand runs directly through the middle of her face and provides contrast. I snapped the photo mid laugh, looking up at the skate board, capturing pure joy and excitement. I hope this image brings people the same amount of happiness she was feeling in this moment.

For me, creativity means to have the freedom of self expression and exploration, which can be shown in beautiful ways. It is a useful tool for growth and problem solving.
