• Artist Statement

  Shattered is a photographic collage of one of my closest friends. I wanted to display her different natural emotions and reactions. Her faces fill up the shattered pieces of glass, each of them being a different photo and facial expression. I applied a solarizing effect to create a more surreal and jarring illusion. This disunity of her face, shattered, represents the array of the spirit and emotions of human nature, showing how she and everyone else are not confined to just one feeling.
