River of No Return

Megha M.

  • I delve into the quiet decay of domestic life from a woman’s perspective. The daily routines—washing dishes, folding laundry, cooking—are presented not as acts of care but as burdens, repetitive and unnoticed. These tasks become symbols of the emotional and physical labor women are often expected to bear without recognition. There’s a constant tension between the comfort of routine and the creeping sense of being trapped in a cycle that strips away your sense of self. Through this piece, I reflect on how domesticity, when it’s not a choice, can feel like a slow form of erasure, where the simple, mundane acts become reminders of what many women are forced to carry.

  • Creativity is vital to my practice as an artist. It goes far beyond a task. I can take my emotions and experiences and turn them into something real and meaningful. The more I work on my art, the more inspiration I find. It’s a constant source of renewal for me.
