This is an excerpt from a BL novel I have been wanting to write for a long time. The Creative Youth Awards gave me an incentive to do more writing and I am glad to have rediscovered my passion for creative writing and storytelling. I have a lot of ideas for writing and decided to write a bunch of different things and see which stuck the best. I loved the complexity of the story I chose paired with a more simple writing allowing for easy understanding. This story follows Levi and his journey to give Ash the best times of his life during the two years he has left due to a degenerative disease. Levi must also choose whether to suppress his feelings for Ash or hope Ash can accept them and risk ruining the little time they have left.

Creativity to me is the expression of what one cares about and the ability to think deeper about how they can best express that. Creativity is letting yourself be free. Creativity doesn’t ever really have to clearly come out as art but instead it can sit there affecting ones views.
