Shriya S.

  • In this film, I use shopping at a grocery store as a metaphor for exploring the temporal fading of cultural identity in language. Both share an overwhelming sense of choice felt by the individual. My media is nontraditional as I describe the subject through unique lenses. The film is addressed to my maternal grandmother in my native language since it felt fitting to the theme. Making this piece helped me make sense of my Asian American identity and share my feelings with my loved ones.
