I started working this song in May. One day, I was messing around on my guitar, and I created a riff that I really liked. I recorded it and started layering sounds. At the time, I was feeling overwhelmed with school and its seemingly endless repetition, so I wrote the lyrics about what my daily life looked like, specifically the mornings, and how I felt. As I continued working on the song, it started to really come together, and I was very happy with how it sounded. I recently altered the structure a bit, rerecorded some tracks, and did my final mix.

In my case, creativity is being inspired, and using that inspiration to make something new. I find the most inspiration from artists that I love.
