The Mimic tells the story of a lost kid named Polaris and how they somehow returned home even after suffering a tragic fate. Through clues hidden throughout the board, the viewer can figure out what happened to Polaris and what will happen in Narrowsburg. This piece is inspired by 1980s horror movies, Native American folklore, and alternate reality games. It is a collage of individual mixed-media artworks, from charcoal in the newspaper clippings to ink in the photos and portraits scattered around the board and even original writing. What do you think happened to Polaris?
