Man Behind the Counter

During a trip to San Francisco, I visited Chinatown and came across a small sushi shop with a man working. This scene reminded me of my dad’s journey when he first moved to America after living in Vietnam his entire life. Upon arriving here, his first job was at a sushi restaurant, much like the man in this image. It was the easiest place for him to work because he could communicate with others there who spoke his language and understood his background. Seeing this man at work made me think of how my dad started out in a similar way but over time pushed himself to step out of his comfort zone, engage with the community, learn new skills and ultimately build a better life for our family.

I believe creativity is a way to express myself, whether through art, writing, or any form. It allows me to explore ideas without limitations, giving me the freedom to push boundaries and think beyond what is conventional.
