Light Painting Experience

I made this piece for my advanced film photography class when we did night photography. This is a long exposure photo taken on my SLR camera with 35mm black and white film. I took 2 bike lights and ran in cirlces, moving constantly to try to get as many different arcs and shapes that I could. My goal for this piece was to create an image of unified chaos. Each arc is different and spontaneous but all work and part of a cohesive whole image. I enjoyed the making of this piece, I had a lot of fun and got to try things I’d never done before. This was my first time doing both night photography and light painting.

Creativity is making things, not necessarily art, that you enjoy and had fun doing. It doesn’t have to be and certainly won’t be perfect and thats not the important part. No one else can define creativity for you, its something you have to figure out on your own.
