Kishar’s Doom

Spencer H.

  • I spend a lot of time in nature, in the woods and mountains, the valleys and rivers. But I also travel across the length of the Bay Area into downtown SF everyday just to go to school. On these trips, I see what humanity has done. We’ve covered miles upon miles upon miles with concrete, metal, and trash. We pollute the air and water. We are, slowly but surely, suffocating the very thing that gives us life. My poems were inspired by this, and attempt to reveal the tragic sadness I feel whenever I see this disrespect and desolation. We need to do better, or we will suffer a tragic fate.

  • Creativity means finding a way to do things that haven’t been done before. For my writing, that means juxtaposing ideas and images to reveal truths about the world that would could otherwise just gloss over and ignore.
