I have always loved to dance, and when I learned about this competition I thought it would be a great way to share my art. I have been doing circus specific performing arts for about 3 years now and it has made me so much happier. I chose the song Inertia by AJR because it reminds me of some of my struggles. I have chronic conditions that make something as simple as walking to the bathroom a challenge for me some days. I almost gave up dance and performing arts completely. This song, specifically the line “my two legs are broken but look at me dance,” inspires me to keep dancing and enjoying myself even though I’m not physically able to all the time.

Being creative to me means having an idea and being able to express it. I don’t think it has to be any particular form of expression, it could be art or writing or anything. Creativity comes in so many different forms, and it’s unique for everyone.
