This image was created at a school dance with a mariachi band playing, this specific image is of a drum high hat. This is one of the first images I’ve taken in motion that I truly loved. I’m hispanic, and mariachi and bandas are the heartBEAT of our culture. As with most cultures, music is especially important, as to preserve dance, motion. In personal life, music often preserves a moment, a song or genre of music can take you back in time. This is the exact function that photography serves, as it freezes time visually. The connection between music and photography is often stronger than we think, as with most art connects past, present, and future.

In the world of photography, I believe that creativity comes from opening your eyes. I participate in performing arts and enjoy creative writing, however photography speaks to me in a special way , in how my creativity is expressed. In photography, creativity means paying attention, often to the smallest possible things.
