Hearsay

  • Hearsay is a piece about rumor, truth, and the misunderstanding of justice. As the ivies represent the rumors, the door presents the fear to reveal an untold truth. This piece is written from the second person’s perspective, tracing the protagonist’s journey to find the truth, which is seen as the other side of the story. Truth is hard to find because rumors spread fast (like the ivies regrowing faster than one can cut), but if one puts the effort in, one can see the hidden truth behind all the rumors. However, most people follow the rumors and ignore what should be found. As this is all related to justice, in the modern world, justice is a hard word to define. There are many sides to one story. Correctness is complicated, there isn’t a defined answer to anything.
