• Artist Statement

  I took this photo on a day trip to Pacifica with my best friend. I had originally planned to photograph deep in the hills, but as we made our way towards the beach later in the day, I realized that the sunset would be more promising for interesting photographs. We hiked to the top of a cliff on the water and I captured this bird’s-eye shot of the California coast. I was drawn to this photo because its vibrant pastel colors and vastness reflect the solitude I felt on that day.
