  • I used to love baking. Over the years, this hobby of mine faded from my life since I no longer had the time to enjoy it. Many of the hobbies I used to get out of bed for have been forced aside, except for drawing, which I hope I will always have. The piece depicts a figure being cracked open, their heart being drained out and used as another ingredient for someone else’s dish, only to be tossed aside and forgotten as trash. I used overly saturated colors, to the point where, when I was making this piece it hurt my eyes to stare at it. I did this as an opposite color theme to the muted/darker elements that fading passion is often depicted as. The title “Eggs are Expensive”, reflects how important passion is, and how we are forced to discard it, even if it’s our most precious commodity.
