This rap was formulated during the camp Hip Hop for Change where we spent a week learning about the different elements of Hip Hop as well as nature & the environment. Our goal was to incorporate what we learned into art from the Hip Hop elements we know best, rapping and beat making. My friend & bandmate, Tommy Shepherd, and I both worked in part on creating this rap. I produced the beat using audio recording samples taken from nature as well as a native chant.

Creativity to me is artistic expression with individuality. To me, this means having outer influences that make you who you are but sharing your experience as an individual and allowing your art to be shaped, and experienced by others, through your lens.
