Culture’s Perseverance

  • In today’s world, a great variety of cultures exist, melding together and possessing their unique qualities. Hand-in-hand with diversity, however, comes an age of assimilation. As an Indian, my culture is old, and naturally, it has changed over time. The ancient country of India has seen many different rulers and came out of an age of cultural oppression due to British sovereigns. The culture seen as “strange” was at risk of fading away. One resistance later, India can retain its rich culture independently today. The beauties of Indian crafts, fineries, and people were able to persevere through a harsh rule that tried to erase them. Because of India’s persevering love for its culture, its radiance remains today. This is much like the story of many cultures in our world. This Indian jewelry is like the various cultures of today. They are intricate, radiant, and cherished by one and all.

  • Creativity to me is finding beauty everywhere. The subjective idea of ”beauty” lies in the process of every piece I create-- I search for grace in every subject I paint, and with it, I embrace a beautiful worldview.
