Chasing Pavements (Euler’s Way)

Chasing Pavements (Euler’s Way) was created to convey the topic of ”Euler’s Method” in a way that engages students talking Calculus BC. The idea to create a song came from a short melody I came up with right before my AP Test to remember how to use Euler’s method. As someone who enjoys singing and film, I encouraged my friends to help me rework the lyrics of Adele’s “Chasing Pavements.” We filmed a music video that taught Euler’s method in a light-hearted way, thus achieving the goal of creativity. We conveyed an idea in a new light and allowed people to connect with it in a new way. I also used this opportunity to develop my Premiere Pro skills and direct actors to achieve cohesive story-telling.

Creativity is expressing yourself in a uniquely human way. Creativity allows me to give a message without explicitly stating what I mean; it leaves room for interpretation and critical thinking on behalf of the consumers of what I create. Thus, creativity creates an outlet that’s accessible to anyone.
