Censor Our Planet

Yuna K.

Mixed Media(paper, magazine paper, watercolors, colored pencils, acrylic paint,

  • I aim to present with my painting how we tend to attempt to call to save the environment, but lack meaningful action. Raw things, burning things, and unsightly things are tacked over with green advertisements, slogans and breaking news; but ultimately not much is done besides desensitizing the population. I hate that there is a sense of surreal numbness to the very real issues happening around us at this moment. With my piece, I want to open people’s eyes and provoke people to move beyond the wall of newspapers and take their steps into addressing the core problems behind the destruction of the planet.

  • To me, creativity means to express and channel everything I think, feel, and am into a work to give it a little piece of my identity and soul.
