It is easy for one to inherit their own parents’ abusive traits when raising their own young. It is all too common, a perpetuating generational trauma. However, it just takes one person to end that, one person to break free from the chains of their ancestors. Across political boundaries and cultures, this remains true. I am fortunate to be at the receiving end of this revolutionary change in my family tree. This twist in family dynamics proves that we aren’t just the sum of our parts. And for this gift of new freedom and the best revolutionary I’ve ever met, I dedicate my work to 父.

Being flexible in mentality, not getting hung up on arbitrary convention, but still being able to use such conventions to one’s own ends. There are still necessary rules dedicated to making artwork more digestible to others. It would be selfish to keep it only to oneself after all.
