Bloated River

I took this photo over a bridge that oversaw a river, flooded from rain from the previous nights, capturing a moment of natural transformation. As a photographer, I find the liminal spaces where human-made structures intersect with the unpredictable power of nature. The boats, arched around the river’s expanded boundaries, symbolize our tenuous connection to landscape—partially tethered, yet vulnerable to nature’s sudden shifts. From my vantage point above the flooded riverscape, I witnessed how morning light can transform chaos into a contemplative tableau. I see that this represents more than just a landscape; it’s a balance on the nature of our environments and our interactions and place in it. I seek to document these transient moments where that tells us about our place in this world and share it with others, like yourself.

Creativity to me is the expression of my ideas, interpretations and emotions in ways that I can share with others. In this case of photography, it allows me to look back and delve deeper into the minute details and grand beauty in my surroundings and the people in it.
