Behold-her

Madeline M.

Graphite, Pen, Colored Pencil, On Bristol

  • My art piece represents the fear of being watched constantly. There are bloodshot eyes everywhere, amplifying how terrifying the fear of constant surveillance is. The nymph woman who dons tattered clothing feels the terror of the constant gaze. Of course, this could represent the “eye of the beholder” but in truth this was used to represent someone yelling “Behold her!”. Her tail has an eye as well, signifying that no matter what she does, there’s always someone watching her.

  • Being able to invent ideas, people, even worlds that mean a lot to you!
