And Then One Morning

Acrylic Paint

  • This is an imagined scene of how the morning of my 18th birthday would feel. My face buried, I turn my back towards the unstoppable progression of time expressed by the morning light and saturated colors on the right. This questions the arbitrary age of adulthood and the change children are pushed through as they are faced with abrupt independence and change. Stuffed animals and the hostile body language are used to express the challenges of letting go of the past.

  • Creativity is the ability to draw from one’s experiences to produce an interpretation of the world that is special to oneself.
