An Alpine Expedition

This collection of photographs documents a magical afternoon hiking in the Swiss Alps, referred to as the Bernese Oberland. Taken on the 10 year old, Canon Gx9, these photos turned out more detailed and beautiful then I could ever imagine. The first two photographs were taken in the beginning of the day, hiking along a lonely ridge. As I looked around me, I was struck by the naked beauty and the vulnerability of the landscape. The second 2 photos came after the arduous eleven mile trek up. These photos taken around 11,500 elevation and capture the force and scale of the natural world. Both so eye-catchily grand and powerful from my perspective below. I went on many hikes during this trip, but this hike did something special for me: it captured the duality of the natural world as a grand powerful force, but also something vulnerable that must be protected.
