Alice In Wonderland

I caught this moment, just outside of Times Square in NYC, while on a college tour with my family. The absurdity and reality of life seemed to collide, leaving me to believe that being a high school senior is like being Alice on her journey through Wonderland. Life is full of promise and possibilities as well as expectations, deadlines and tests. Lewis Carol in Alice in Wonderland highlights this, “I–I hardly know, sir, just at present–at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then,” showing that the trick to surviving is really knowing who you are despite the noise around you. This photo uses film emulation to capture a dream-like world through halation, bloom, grain, and other subtle film-like characteristics.
