Swirling Gold

Harlowe H.

EVA foam, acrylic paint, hot glue, stretchy fabric bands

  • When I was researching the different kinds of armor found across Asia, I stumbled upon an image of an armor set from Thailand. The swirling gold details on the armor caught my attention, and I immediately knew that I wanted to make something inspired by the style. Creating this bracer was an experiment for me, as I'd never made a foam prop before. The cutting out the pattern featured was especially difficult, and made me wish I had drawn out a simpler pattern. This artwork is meaningful to me because it forced me to try new things and let me show my appreciation for art from all around the world.

  • Creativity is an outlet for humanities thoughts and emotions, complex or simple.
