In my art class we had a prompt to create a mash up of our own face and a character that we really liked (combine our faces). I chose the character Amélie from the movie Amélie. I chose graphite as my medium because that’s something I really love working with. I’ve always really enjoyed the movie Amélie and its message of hope. Through her actions she creates a better place for her friends and companions, and I’ve always really liked the idea of making the best out of something as she’s always really inspired me. So as a result I thought the best idea would be to merge my face with hers, giving the idea that maybe one day I could make people happier as well, and make a better environment for the people around me.

Creativity is the thing that can be an outlet from the harshness of school and the world. It helps me understand who I am in a better light and lets me put my thoughts onto paper. Creativity is something that makes the world a better, more exciting place.
